dcarbon8 measured its business operations carbon footprint for 2007. The results show that the greatest part of our footprint (86% of a total of 29.42 tonnes CO2e) comes from business travel.

In an effort to bring this part of the footprint down, we have established a travel log to track all company travel and combine client trips. When working with multi-national clients, we frequently schedule conference calls to avoid air travel. For example, this year we were able to keep our calculation of a global sports equipment manufacturer with 35 office locations all over the world entirely desk-based.

Otherwise, we recycle all paper and have implemented a double-sided printing policy. We separate all waste streams and work in a day-lit, naturally ventilated office space, which keeps our energy footprint low.

dcarbon8 is proud to be a Planet Positive business, with the remainder of our footprint offset by 110%. We are expanding rapidly over the next year with plans to move into larger offices. Despite this, we hope to maintain our already low carbon footprint of 2.94 tonnes per employee, and have set ourselves a target of reducing it by at least 5% over this year.
